Abstract

The smoke generated in the welding process is composed of very small solid particles that can cause significant damage to the respiratory system among others. The purpose of this research is to develop a proposal for occupational respiratory health in soldiers. It is a projective, descriptive and transversal investigation; The method was based on a documentary review on the subject of prevention in welding fumes for the worker from international databases, and then present short- and long-term preventive strategies for occupational health. Six preventive strategies are described to eliminate or reduce exposure to these vapors generated by welding: the first four, focused on the limit conditions of work, localized filtration and the training of soldiers; In addition, a long-term projection with innovation in robotic systems and the international contribution of prevention aspects crystallized by experience. In conclusion, the welding activity must improve the conditions to eliminate harmful gases, for which measures are implemented to promote public policies and technological innovation that reduce the risk in occupational respiratory health for this worker.
