Abstract
A comprehensive bibliographical review on esophageal cancer was carried out in published articles that includes recent years with the aim of collecting information on this entity, as well as essential aspects such as: diagnosis, classification, adjuvant and neoadjuvant treatment and immunotherapy, among the factors The most involved risk factors include alcohol, tobacco, sequelae of caustic lesions and Barrett's esophagus; Esophageal cancer remains among the most aggressive neoplasms of the digestive tract, and its poor prognosis is due to its late diagnosis.
